Introduction

"I have no interest in that kind of bother... I just want to live normally. And if you insist on getting in my way, I'll slice down that ambition of yours!"

Story

Once a normal high school boy, Hyde was attacked by the Void. However, thanks to the help of a mysterious young girl named Linne, he was able to barely escape death. Upon discovering that the attack had turned him into an In-Birth, a being that can utilize EXS, he is forced by Linne to fight alongside her against the threat of the Void.

Linne has since claimed respite in Hyde's house, much to the latter's chagrin. After fighting countless battles together as part of "special training", Hyde has become accustomed to his powers. He relies greatly on Danretsu no Menzaifu, the sword that Linne entrusted to him. During this time, he has also met the gargantuan brute Waldstein, who also happens to be Linne's comrade.

But when the phenomenon known as the Under Night suddenly appears, Linne and Waldstein mysteriously disappear, leaving only a message for Hyde to stay away.

But he will have none of that. Hyde vows to find Linne and Waldstein, and settle a score with the mysterious woman known as "Paradox"....

Normal Moves

5A

Standard 5A. Hyde takes a jab with his sword.

2A

Cancelable low poke, good for stagger pressure. Does no chip damage.

5B

Vertical slash with Hyde's sword.

2B

Crouching horizontal slash, good poke.

5C

Large slash, combo move.

5[C]

Charge version of 5C. Does more damage, so its primary use is in combos.

2C

Standard sweep. Hits low and knocks down. Good for combos. Does no chip.

j.A

Good hitbox that covers down and in front of Hyde, hitting twice.

j.B

Good jump in normal. Large vertical slash that covers below Hyde.

j.C

Another jumping sword normal, covering more horizontal space than j.B.

j.[C]

Charged version of j.C, causing ground slam on hit.

Command Normals

6B

Two slashes, one command. First hit launches the opponent slightly and can be special cancelled on block.

3B

Hyde sweeps the opponent with his sword. Good combo utility, hits low, and picks up downed opponents.

3C

Primary launcher. Large crouching vertical slash.

j.6C

More horizontal version of j.C. Wallbounces on hit.

Dash Normals

66B

Knee normal, causing knockdown on hit. Deals no chip damage.

66C

Hyde stops his dash with a large slash. Plus on block, causing crumple on hit.

Universal Mechanics

Force Function B+C

A horizontal slash. Can be special canceled.

Force Function (charged) [B+C]

Charged version of his Force Function with longer startup, more damage and is now an overhead. Can only be cancelled via Chain Shift.

Throw A+D

Hyde grabs and kicks the opponent. Works as a combo starter in the corner.


Special Moves

Black Orbiter 「ブラックオービター」236 A/B/C

Standard projectile; nicely sized with decent recovery.

  • A Version: Slower version
  • B Version: Faster version
  • EXS: Increases size, damage, and amount of hits. Sets up particularly vicious block-strings. Leaves an opponent open for another combo on hit.
  • Dark Lotus 「ダークロータス」236 A

Detonates Black Orbiter. Sets up good block-strings. Launches opponent on hit.

  • Bend Sinister 「ベンドシニスター」236 B/C

Strike follow up to Black Orbiter.

Red Clad Craver「レッドクラッドクレイヴァー」623 A/B/C

Classic rising dragon-punch attack. Multi-hitting, good damage, with invincibility and anti-air properties.

Vacant Shift「べイカントシフト」214 A/B/C

Upward rekkas, third hit ground slams. EX version requires no additional inputs after the first rekka.

Shadow Scare「シャドウスケア」22 A/B/C

Hyde stabs into the ground and a flame rises in one of two places. The A version places a flame right in front of you, the B version at half screen. EX version starts from the same position as the A version and moves forward like a wave.

Dark Lotus「ダークロータス」(In midair) 236 A/B/C

Same as ground Dark Lotus. Fairly safe on block, excellent for okizeme tactics.

Pale Bringer「ペイルブリンガー」41236 C

Hyde stabs into the ground and then performs a DP and ends it with a kick. Combo utility.

Infinite Words

Gyre Vortex 「ジャイルボルテクス」41236 D

Hyde stabs the ground and is surrounded by a red light. Can continue a combo from this move.

Infinite Words EXS

Raging Roar「レイジングロア」A+B+C

On hit does 3,500 damage. Causes GRD break unless the player is in Vorpal.
